Shavers are not waterproof but more accurately are “water resistant”. This involves using a vacuum sealed membrane to keep essential electrical components inside the shaver away from water causing electrical shock.
This “wet/dry” marketing idea was designed to make buyers part with more money, rather than provide an actual product advantage for smooth skin.
These shavers have batteries which eventually need replacement. This requires opening the shaver, which breaks the waterproof seal, making it unusable when wet. So you have to buy a new shaver instead of replacing the battery. Great for shaver sales but less so for you.
